What it does
- Five questions: self-employed now or starting soon, already in a mandatory scheme (KSK, Versorgungswerk, crafts, other DRV duty, farmers' fund), main or side business, retirement age, existing private provision.
- Result: likely affected, likely exempt, opt-out likely possible, or unclear, with the reason in plain words.
- What it could cost under the proposal, with the 2026 figures: €735.63 a month as standard, €367.82 in the first three years after founding, or 18.6 % of your profit.
- A timeline of where the law stands and a list of what is still open (cut-off date, opt-out rules, private alternatives).
- Every figure with its source and an "as of" date. All rules sit in one config file, so the check is updated within minutes of the draft law.
- "Email me when the law passes": one note when the draft is out and one when the law is passed.
Why I built it
Since the pension commission's report in June 2026, every self-employed person I know has asked the same question: does this hit me? The honest answer today is "probably, unless", and the details sit on page 52 of an 80-page report. I built this check so you get that answer in a minute, with the open points stated plainly, and I will update it the day the draft law appears.
